About the Role

As a Senior Designer, you’ll lead design execution that embodies modern luxury aesthetics and elevated brand standards. You’ll guide projects from initial concept through final production, occasionally incorporating light motion to enhance storytelling and engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Design premium visual experiences across digital touchpoints including brand identity, marketing campaigns, web, social media, and pitch presentations
  • Build and refine comprehensive brand systems encompassing typography, layout systems, color palettes, imagery direction, and brand guidelines
  • Partner with creative leadership, copywriters, and cross-functional team members to transform strategic vision into exceptional creative work
  • Deliver production-ready files with meticulous attention to detail and craft
  • Enhance select projects with light motion design including animated typography, logo animations, social content, and seamless transitions

Experience & Background

  • 4–8 years of professional design experience with agency background required
  • Portfolio demonstrating work for luxury, real estate, hospitality, or premium lifestyle brands

Design Excellence

  • Exceptional typography, layout composition, and art direction — refined aesthetic judgment is essential
  • Strong conceptual thinking paired with efficient execution capabilities

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)

This role will oversee the day-to-day project activities, including management of client communication, creative resourcing, financial reporting and budget management on all assigned projects and accounts. As the key point of contact for both the client and creative team, you play a pivotal role in the success of all client deliverables.

Candidates should have extensive experience leading and structuring engagements with parallel work streams—spanning strategy, creative, asset production, digital and paid media. They will be the point person for delivery across a series of work streams while still keeping up-to-date on daily project activities. They must be prepared to meet deliverable requirements, assess change and work in a fast pace, creative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience in digital asset creation, delivery and packaging. The role requires large deliveries of files for motion graphics, canva templates, graphic design, typographic treatments for assets pertaining to email, CRM, paid social, organic social, banners, DOOH and many other mediums.
  • Ensuring that all creative projects are created on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. The right person for this role has strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Communicate and document project status and to clients, team members and leadership on a regular basis; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate process
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables for all assigned projects
  • Create and manage projects in Adobe Workfront, ensuring everything is up to date and all stakeholders are aware of project status, progress and delays
  • Work closely with the creative leads to assign projects, optimizing workload and assignments across the creative team
  • Manage allocation and utilization of the creative production processes, including concept development, design, copywriting, photography and video production, and asset management
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, providing detailed project updates and addressing any issues or concerns
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring projects are delivered on budget

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in project management in an agency or creative services setting
  • Lifestyle and luxury client experience is required for this role
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Experience closely partnering with finance teams and an understanding of the SOW process
  • Excellent communication skills- you must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with cross-functional teams and external partners ensuring alignment across all parties
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify issues and come prepared to provide solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in project management software (Workfront preferred)

  • Optimize campaign costs while maintaining (or improving!) performance – pacing budgets thoughtfully to maximize outcomes.
  • Set (and hit!) meaningful goals and KPIs for each campaign, tied back to the client’s business objectives.
  • Apply an innovative testing methodology (A/B tests, creative iterations, audience experiments) to continuously improve performance.

The role of Senior Designer at The Charles is to work with Senior Creative Leadership, Account Managers/Directors and Project Managers/Producers to set the visual tone and aesthetic direction for projects and campaigns you have been assigned to.

The role of Senior Designer at The Charles is to work with Senior Creative Leadership, Account Managers/Directors and Project Managers/Producers to set the visual tone and aesthetic direction for projects and campaigns you have been assigned to. In addition, your role encompasses the mentorship of Junior and Mid-weight designers – helping to shape their personal skills and design perspectives. Senior Designers at The Charles collaborate across design, art and digital disciplines on a daily basis, all while maintaining high standards for original concepts and detailed execution.


Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to design for a variety of audiences, brands, and industries
  • Work with the senior design team to maintain a strong, innovative and well defined graphic design language for the assigned projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines, often while working independently.
  • Develop innovative concepts and specifications for graphic design related projects that achieve brand objectives and project timelines
  • Work seamlessly as an individual, a partner with the Creative Director and/or designated Creative Team and Development Team members to create a range of new and viable concepts and designs for assigned agency projects and pitches.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set the design and art direction briefs for creative teams on projects you are assigned to. This can include the creation of mood-boards, written treatments, storyboards and narratives
  • Assist in defining the look and feel for campaigns and content across the spectrum
  • Assist in directing all phases of content and narrative from concept through to roll-out
  • Design and develop assets for campaigns across the spectrum of print, web and social media
  • Develop and deliver concepts that utilize traditional graphic design principles and are applied within the context of digital design and marketing

WORKING WITH CREATIVE TEAMS

  • Collaborate with your creative teams to create concepts and direction across a variety of accounts. We don’t just see you in one specific vertical, but across many within the agency
  • Guide JR & Mid-weight designers to create a range of deliverables: visual concepts, branding, mock-ups, typography, iconography, presentations and layouts across multiple platforms
  • Work with other creatives to extend the visual language of a diverse range of projects and concept new ideas and new designs.

WORKING WITH CLIENTS

  • Work with Account Managers/Project Managers/Producers to build relationships, understand client vision/direction and present designs and concepts.
  • Communicate visual designs, concepts, and storyboards through presentations, prototypes or video
  • Collaborate with your Client to create engaging social media and digital driven content

WORKING WITH OTHER TEAMS

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the visual design is communicating the desired message while working within existing style guides, brand guidelines, and in accordance with creative direction.
  • Work with Account and Project Managers to translate the client creative briefs into the tangible and executional
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Finance Teams to understand and help set shoot budgets and scopes
  • Collaborate with Account Managers/Project Managers/Producers to create, complete and devise production ready briefs for external partners and vendors
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Data teams to develop captivating narratives and visuals based on their analysis, insights and recommendations

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • 6–9 years of experience (previous agency experience is required)
  • Experience working on hospitality, real estate & luxury brands
  • Strong experience working within social design landscape
  • A portfolio that shows a range of design, thinking & ability
  • Strong working experience within design platforms (Adobe Suite, cap-cut & Figma)
  • A hunger & an eagerness to push designs forward
